Job Title: Apprentice Credit Controller

This role is part of the Finance Centre of Excellence (COE) in the UK, specifically within the Cash Collections team in Worcester. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting monies due to Atkins from clients in a timely manner, primarily through telephone calls, but also using statements and delinquency letters as needed.

The role will report to the UK-based Credit Control Manager and is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to make a positive impact in a changing business environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A strong track record of working in a Collections/Credit Control environment is essential.
  • Experience working with purchase orders and resolving disputes is highly desirable.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Excel: Intermediate level required for creating spreadsheets and maintaining databases.
  • Word: Basic level required for creating written communication and reports.
  • Outlook: Intermediate level required for communicating with customers via email.
  • Telephone Skills: Ability to handle all types of calls in a polite, helpful, and informative manner.
  • Able to work collaboratively, building strong relationships with Project Managers and Finance colleagues.
  • Skilled at prioritizing workload to ensure key deadlines are met.
  • Organized and flexible.
  • Effective communicator.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the collection of external customer debt.
  • Inform and resolve any issues or disputes on external customer accounts that may prevent payment.
  • Build internal customer relationships to assist in the Cash Collections role.
  • Build external customer relationships to assist in the collection of cash.
  • Ensure appropriate action is taken against accounts that are in default, in line with the Cash Collections procedure.
  • Maintain customer account records to communicate previous actions taken.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the monthly cash target both individually and as a team.
  • Advise Atkins Business Units of any potential issues or problems that may arise on external customer accounts.

Applicants must have the required infrastructure to enable remote working.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
