Job Title: Apprentice Credit Controller

This role is part of the Finance Centre of Excellence (COE) in the UK, specifically within the Cash Collections team in Worcester. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting monies due to Atkins from clients in a timely manner, primarily through telephone calls, but also using statements and delinquency letters as needed.

The role will report to the UK-based Credit Control Manager and is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to make a positive impact in a changing business environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the collection of external customer debt.
  • Inform and resolve any issues or disputes on external customer accounts that may prevent payment.
  • Build internal customer relationships to support the Cash Collections role.
  • Establish external customer relationships to facilitate cash collection.
  • Ensure appropriate action is taken against accounts in default, in line with the Cash Collections procedure.
  • Maintain customer account records to communicate previous actions taken.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the monthly cash target both individually and as a team.
  • Advise Atkins Business Units of any potential issues or problems on external customer accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of working in a Collections/Credit Control environment, experience with purchase orders and dispute resolution, and intermediate-level Excel skills for creating spreadsheets and maintaining databases.

Requirements:
  • ICM or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with project managers and finance colleagues.
  • Organized and flexible with a strong work ethic.
Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
