Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Unity City Academy in Middlesbrough. As a key member of our learning support team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and education of our pupils, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work in a successful and growing academy that values the well-being and academic success of all its students. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils, including 1:1 SEN support and the provision of specialist skills as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, particularly those with SEN
- Provide individualized support to pupils, including 1:1 SEN support and the provision of specialist skills as needed
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and academic success of all pupils
- Experience of working with SEN children/young people
- Experience working within an educational environment
- Maths and English at GCSE C or Level 2 functional skills is essential
- A teaching assistant or SEN-based qualification would be advantageous
- Patience, compassion, and an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with pupils and staff is also required
