About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and growing academy in the east end of Middlesbrough. Our academy has recently achieved an Ofsted "Good" rating in all categories and has a passionate staff body that strives to ensure children achieve academic excellence and become worldwise, cultured, and proud of their individuality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Provide 1:1 SEN support, including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with SEN children/young people.
  • Experience working within an educational environment.
  • Maths and English at GCSE C or Level 2 functional skills is essential.
  • A teaching assistant or SEN-based qualification would be advantageous.
  • Patience, compassion, and an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with pupils and staff is also required.
