We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Services Engineer to join the Macro Group team. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with leading and managing mechanical services projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee mechanical services projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and engineering teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design documents and provide expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and building codes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and design solutions for minor works projects to facilitate seamless execution.
  • Manage project resources and budgets effectively to maximize value from the property portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project teams across various technical disciplines.
  • Implement systems and procedures to manage delivery standards, budget control, and project planning.
  • Visit and assess works at diverse sites as required by project needs.
Project Scope

Your project work will encompass:

  • Assisting the project Quantity Surveyor in defining the MEP scope for project estimation.
  • Conducting surveys, design, and specification services.
  • Ensuring compliance with best practices and legislation regarding health and safety, including asbestos management.
  • Engaging with clients and consultants at all stages of the project.
  • Documenting key insights and learnings from each project in the internal database.
  • Exploring new technologies for data capture and reporting.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A postgraduate background in mechanical design with a solid understanding of electrical services for effective MEP project management.
  • A relevant qualification such as HNC/HND or a degree in building services mechanical engineering, covering systems like LTHW, CHW, DHW, BCWS, sprinklers, ventilation, and drainage.
  • Experience with design software, including IES and Hevacomp.
  • Design experience with either a consultancy or contractor up to stage 4 level, including detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • The ability to gather, monitor, and analyze a variety of data.
  • Satisfactory DBS clearance.
