Role Overview:

The Supplier Quality Specialist is pivotal in executing supplier quality assurance and enhancement initiatives to guarantee timely and compliant supplier product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Supplier Quality Subject Matter Expert and primary contact for suppliers regarding quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain and Supplier Development teams, engaging directly with suppliers to mitigate business risks.
  • Implement supplier inspection process requirements based on supplier status and customer/regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the supplier source inspection process and manage relevant delegation procedures.
  • Address supplier deviations for provided products, including root cause analysis and corrective actions in collaboration with suppliers and the Supply Chain Centre of Excellence team.
  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL), offering recommendations for additions, deletions, and scope modifications according to plant-specific requirements.
  • Support and conduct supplier assessments as necessary to facilitate Supplier Development initiatives or meet plant-specific needs.
  • Drive supplier quality initiatives such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to complement Supplier Development efforts.
  • Escalate significant performance issues to the Supplier Development Engineering organization for resolution.

Qualifications:

  • HND/HNC or equivalent experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in writing and editing technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creativity.
  • Effective communication and influence skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive.
  • Understanding of manufacturing capabilities.
  • Experience in product definition and new product development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aerospace Quality Assurance standards (AS9100 series, Pt21, Pt145, DAOS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with APQP deployment and associated root cause corrective action methodologies.
  • Proficient in internal and external auditing processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and techniques.
  • Detailed understanding of MSD Products (AAR and Actuation) is preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering on promises and acting as the Voice of the Customer.
  • Collaborative approach to assist internal and external customers.
  • Proactive problem solver who provides effective solutions.
  • Represent Eaton positively in all interactions with suppliers and customers.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.
