Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance activities within trade boundaries and authorizations, following current procedures and guidelines.
  • Contribute to team delivery of agreed targets and goals, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve excellence.
  • Comply with current Tool Control procedure, ensuring the safe and efficient use of equipment.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, sharing knowledge and ideas to drive continuous improvement.
  • Carry out Improving Quality and Continuous Quality Improvement reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Support a climate of continuous improvement, assisting productivity, quality, and lean methodology.
  • Undertake training and train other team members to achieve maximum flexibility and expertise.
  • Work to the highest level of competence, adhering to all procedures and guidelines.
  • Agree to undertake other duties within the team to support output, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
  • Work within and promote the Behavioural Competencies, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Ensure all procedures relating to foreign object debris control are adhered to, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Mentor/Train apprentices as and when required, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Competencies:

Core:

  • Team worker with excellent communication skills, able to fully interact with other team members.

Desirable:

  • Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert, demonstrating expertise and knowledge.

Functional:

  • Full compliance and understanding of Quality Management System, actively participating in continuous improvement activities.

Organisational Relationships:

Reports directly to the Front-Line Manager.

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:

  • Recognized indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent, essential for performing the role.
  • Human Factors, experience of working with Drawings and approved source information, and understanding of Military MRP 145 and associated Regulatory requirements.
  • Suitable engineering qualification in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, previous experience of independent inspections, Cat B or Certifier authorizations, and previous Chinook mechanical experience.

Experience:

Previous experience within a Base maintenance Mechanical environment would be an advantage.
