Job Title: Aftersales Applications Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team at Obscurant Recruitment Solutions Ltd. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the Automotive industry and excellent project management skills.

About the Role: As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing and identifying current and future needs of our automotive customers and proposing innovative solutions. You will manage and lead all aspects of the product life cycle, from conception through to release, working to deadlines and adapting plans as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of customer needs and propose solutions to meet their requirements.
  2. Product Development: Manage the development of new products and features, working closely with the development and test teams.
  3. Project Management: Lead multiple, concurrent engineering projects, negotiating and agreeing actions and time scales with other project team members.
  4. Communication: Communicate effectively with the development and test teams, reporting back to management on product/project status.
  5. Specification Creation: Create and maintain detailed and accurate specifications for new products and features.
  6. User Acceptance Testing: Complete user acceptance testing and provide feedback to the development teams.
  7. Technical Support: Provide expert help and guidance to the first line customer support team and other areas of the business as needed.
  8. Pre-Sales Advice: Provide pre-sales advice to customers and distributors, helping with quotations and on-site customer demonstrations and training.
  9. Marketing Support: Assist the marketing team with activities such as attending Expos, content creation, application notes, magazine articles, etc.

Requirements: Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and be fully eligible to work in the UK. Experience in managing concurrent projects and ability to read and understand technical documentation such as regulations, specifications, and product data sheets/manuals is essential.
