About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our team at the Psychiatric Clinical Decisions Unit (PCDU) and Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS). As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing expert clinical advice and support to our team, as well as providing leadership and guidance to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the care needs of service users and develop and implement plans of care that are tailored to their individual needs.
  • Provide skilled clinical supervision to junior staff and learners, and support their professional development.
  • Lead the implementation of change to develop practice and improve service delivery, and evaluate the effectiveness of new initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of professional practice within the team, and facilitate the use of local networks to inform the monitoring of practice.
  • Act as a clinical leader of the team, and provide management supervision to Band 5's and 3's in the absence of the team coordinator.
Requirements
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. NMC for nurses).
  • Mentorship training and evidence of continued professional development in clinical practice.
  • Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health, clinical/risk assessment, and Information Governance principles.
  • Experience of working with adults with mental health needs, and highly developed clinical reasoning skills.
