Paediatric Rheumatology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Rheumatology Consultant to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our paediatric rheumatology department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist care to children and young people with rheumatic diseases, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex cases.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols for paediatric rheumatology care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and transitions between services.
- Participate in education and training of junior medical staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives within the department and trust.
- Eligible for full UK GMC registration and a License to Practice.
- On GMC Specialist Register for General Paediatrics or within six months of attaining CCT or equivalent.
- MRCPCH or equivalent.
- Comprehensive clinical experience in paediatric rheumatology.
- Experience of managing safeguarding cases.
- Experience in managing problems with chronic musculoskeletal pain.
- Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
- Skills to manage acutely ill children in a complex tertiary hospital setting.
- Ability to assess and manage complex conditions with chronic pain and other rehabilitation needs.
- Training in adolescent health and transitional care.
- Ability to interpret rheumatological tests.
- Ability to perform Paediatric joint injections.
- Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training.
- Valid BLS Training.
