An innovative technology start-up, backed by investment, is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. With a focus on laser detection and monitoring technology, the company is poised for significant growth.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for bringing your expertise to the design table, collaborating with the team and product management to shape the product's development. Testing is a critical aspect of product development, and you will be expected to specify, design, conduct, and document tests of subcomponents and prototypes.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Mechanical design of instruments and peripherals
  • Designing to meet the requirements of product managers, manufacturing, service, support, and installation
  • Mechanical design of jigs and fixtures for manufacture and test
  • Planning and managing deliverables on time
  • Supplier selection, quality inspection, and handover to procurement
  • Design and documentation of prototype and instrument testing to meet mechanical requirements
  • Considering component supply cost, lead time, and end of life

About You:

  • BEng or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with CAD packages, especially SolidWorks
  • Background in start-up environments, deep technology, combined hardware/software products, laser spectroscopy, or photonics
  • Experience in designing and conducting sub-component and final product testing
