Position Overview

As a Chef de Partie, you will work closely with our culinary team to create delightful dishes that nourish both body and spirit.

In addition to possessing exceptional presentation, organizational, and communication skills, you will showcase a genuine passion for food and service, along with a vibrant enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and cook menu items as instructed by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
  • Assist in menu development and planning, staying abreast of future food trends while being passionate about innovating service styles and concepts.
  • Support stocktaking efforts as needed.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of your designated section.
  • Deliver prompt and efficient service, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach, being approachable and eager to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate as a team player, providing assistance to colleagues when necessary.
  • Foster a respectful environment by treating team members as you wish to be treated.
  • Guide and instruct Commis Chefs in food preparation and cooking techniques as directed.
  • Compile food orders for your section, ensuring standards and costs align with the Head Chef's directives; check and record stock, deliveries, and wastage in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop an understanding of food costing, sales mix, and menu planning.
  • Adhere to the company's hygiene, health, and safety policies.
  • Follow the established cleaning schedules rigorously.
  • Maintain food storage areas in compliance with hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Take responsibility for your own development with guidance from the Sous Chef or Head Chef and participate in identified training courses.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values in all aspects of your role.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the organization.
  • Respond to reasonable requests from clients or management.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policy on safer recruitment and safeguarding.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role within contract catering or educational settings is preferred.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institution.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
