Role Overview:

We are seeking dedicated Gas Operatives to assist our Core and Vac Engineers in performing essential maintenance and repairs on our gas distribution network, including the replacement and installation of new gas mains and services.

Your Contributions:

In this role, you will support engineers on-site, gaining invaluable experience while assisting with gas service and mains repair tasks using specialized Core and Vac vehicles. The position involves physical work, including excavation and repair of gas pipes in various outdoor settings, ensuring safety and teamwork at all times. Opportunities for skill enhancement will be available as you demonstrate your capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the public
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including participation in a 24-hour standby rota
  • A valid driving license is mandatory
  • Previous experience in groundwork or similar physical roles is advantageous but not essential for application
