Position Overview:

As a Senior Family Services Coordinator, your primary focus will be on the recruitment and training of Foster Parents within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and evaluating grant applications while ensuring program compliance
  • Designing initiatives and analyzing community requirements
  • Facilitating collaboration between agency and community resources
  • Engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Delivering presentations and providing strategic recommendations
  • Keeping abreast of pertinent laws and regulations
  • Participating in professional development workshops and training sessions
  • Submitting proposals and budgets for authorization
Essential Qualifications:

Extensive understanding of social work methodologies, human behavior, and relevant legislation and policies in human services. Proficient in financial management, technical writing, and Microsoft Office applications. Capable of effective communication, needs assessment, client counseling, and staying informed on social work advancements. A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, substantial experience in program oversight, and participation in relevant training initiatives. A BWS or MWS degree along with a Social Work license from the Commonwealth of Virginia is advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

Candidates may be subject to various screenings, including Criminal History Background checks, Central Registry reviews, DMV/driving record evaluations, and pre-employment drug testing. All job offers are contingent upon satisfactory results from these assessments. Additionally, candidates must be prepared to assist with shelter duties during emergencies.
