Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Services Supervisor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of human services programs and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of social workers and assistants to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to vulnerable populations.
  • Develop and implement effective programs and services to address the social, economic, and health needs of individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including law enforcement, community services boards, and health departments, to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices in human services, including case management, supervision, and program development.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, making recommendations for improvement and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a human services setting, with a focus on adult protective services.
  • Considerable knowledge of human services principles, practices, and policies, as well as experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a human services field or related field.
  • Supervisory experience in a human services setting.
  • Experience working with community partners and stakeholders.
