Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to provide technical leadership and mentorship to our talented Data Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying top-notch data analytics solutions and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Data Engineering team, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Technical Solutions: Own the technical solutions, ensuring they meet the business requirements and are implemented efficiently.
  • Mentorship: Mentor team members, helping them develop their skills and expertise.
  • Requirements Analysis: Understand and translate user requirements into technical specifications.
  • Data Solutions Design: Design and implement data solutions, ensuring they meet the business needs.
  • Code Development: Write and test code, ensuring it meets the technical requirements.
  • Debugging and Maintenance: Debug and fix software defects, maintaining and updating software as needed.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, trainers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Azure Data Services Experience: Proven experience with Azure Data Services.
  • Azure DevOps Pipelines: Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Azure Synapse: Experience with Azure Synapse (highly desirable).
  • SQL Server/TSQL: Strong skills in SQL Server and TSQL.
  • Microsoft BI Skills: Experience with Microsoft BI skills, including SSIS, SSRS.
  • Data Modelling Skills: Strong data modelling skills.
  • Power BI: Experience with Power BI.
  • Data Warehouse and Report Layer Design: Experience in designing data warehouse and report layer.
  • SQL/Database Querying Skills: Strong skills in SQL and database querying.
  • Commercial Experience: Strong commercial experience in data engineering with a proven track record of developing data solutions at the enterprise level.
  • Senior/Lead Data Role: Previous experience in a Senior/Lead Data role.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary, up to £80,000, plus a bonus. We also offer a hybrid working arrangement, with 2 days in our Swindon office and 3 days remote.
