Parking Enforcement and Customer Service Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Representations Officer, working closely with a Local Authority in Southwark. This is a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To investigate and respond to parking-related correspondence, including formal and informal representations and appeals.
  • To ensure parking enquiries are dealt with in line with statutory processes, internal KPIs, and the council's communication procedures.
  • To attend external Adjudication Hearings and provide evidence, preparing and determining plans for complex cases.
  • To process parking permit applications and control suspension requests within set time limits.
  • To provide excellent customer service, answering phone calls and resolving resident and visitor requests.

Requirements:

  • Education to include Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent, or proven experience in parking enforcement and appeals legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in customer service or administrative roles, with the ability to compose formal correspondence.
  • Experience in analysing data to inform decisions, using computer systems and databases.
  • Ability to work with contractors and officers in a penalty charge notice enforcement environment.

Important Notes:

  • Availability to work immediately or at short notice is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK is required.
