Contract Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Contract Engineer to join our team at Contracts Consultancy Ltd in Aberdeen. As a key member of our Commercial department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Operations team and contributing to the success of our Offshore/Subsea projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Commercial department to prepare and submit tenders, ensuring accurate budget proposals and subcontractor/supplier proposals are included.
  2. Develop and maintain comprehensive tender price estimates, working closely with the Technical Sales Manager to ensure a suitable and achievable technical solution.
  3. Manage and maintain up-to-date clarification registers for tenders, ensuring seamless communication with clients and stakeholders.
  4. Prepare and collate commercial and contractual deliverables for client tender submissions, working closely with other departments as required.
  5. Negotiate Call Offs to established contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  6. Manage commercial databases, including CRM, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  7. Lead the handover process between Commercial and Operations, ensuring a smooth transition of commercial and contractual documents.
  8. Provide ongoing support to the Operations team, addressing commercial issues and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.
  9. Ensure accurate project invoicing on a monthly basis, working closely with the Project Manager to optimize margins.
  10. Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to evaluate supplier management and strategic partnerships, ensuring optimal business outcomes.
Requirements:
  1. Several years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes.
  2. Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  3. Experience working in global jurisdictions, with a strong understanding of international commercial practices.
  4. Educated to degree level, preferably with a business-related degree.
  5. Strong business and commercial acumen, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work independently, use initiative, and collaborate as part of a team.
  7. Proactive and forward-looking approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
