Job Overview

A remarkable opportunity has emerged within the Supplier and Contract Management Team at NHS Blood & Transplant, allowing you to enhance your expertise in managing contracts across various categories, initially focusing on the Corporate Services sub-team.

You will participate in a comprehensive induction and training program, receiving continuous development to aid you in your role and help you achieve your professional aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

Join a committed team of procurement experts tasked with negotiating and overseeing a variety of essential commercial contracts and framework agreements for the supply of goods and services to NHSBT. Collaborate with Senior Commercial Managers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to manage the entire contracting process, ensuring the needs of all parties are addressed. Support the National Contracts Managers and National Procurement Manager in delivering contracts that are robust, legally sound, and cost-effective, ensuring NHSBT demonstrates best value for money in its non-pay expenditure and meets savings objectives. Conduct supplier management to guarantee the delivery of anticipated benefits from contracts and monitor supplier performance, including supplier development where applicable. Ensure adherence to Public Contract Regulations, including mandated directives, policy notes, and NHSBT Standing Orders and Financial Instructions.

You may be required to travel as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

About You

Experience and Expertise

Proven experience in a computerized office environment, ideally within procurement or logistics. Familiarity with formal contracting processes and the drafting of amendments. Knowledge of legislation related to goods and services. Proficient in Information Technology, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience utilizing IT systems to generate timely, professional, and accurate reports and correspondence, including financial data.

Qualifications and Training

Minimum educational attainment at GCSE level, including Mathematics and English Language, or equivalent relevant experience. Willingness to pursue a qualification such as Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or an equivalent. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
