About the Role
The Operations Director will play a key role in driving business growth and expansion, working closely with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of profitably running and growing a specialist machinery sales or equipment hire business, with experience in electro-mechanical machinery and a strong understanding of industrial process industries and/or water utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business growth strategies to increase revenue and profitability
- Lead and manage a team of operations staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
- Manage and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers
- Monitor and analyze business performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies
Requirements
- Proven track record of business growth and expansion in a specialist equipment hire or machinery sales environment
- Experience in electro-mechanical machinery and a strong understanding of industrial process industries and/or water utilities
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
- Ability to analyze business performance and identify areas for improvement
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to make informed decisions
