Job Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to the workshop and service department. They will advise and direct technicians on best practices for machine checks, repairs, and servicing to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control the workflow of new units PDI's
  • Attend weekly production meetings
  • Hold toolbox talks with service staff
  • Keep the Service Manager updated on workshop processes
  • Provide instructions on diagnostic work and support technicians
  • Offer advice and support on technical matters
  • Coordinate and follow up on warranty claims
  • Ensure Service Bulletins are completed and signed off
  • Carry out fault diagnosis for machine PreDelivery Inspections, Load Testing, and servicing
  • Cooperate in machine care and safety while working on machines
  • Assume SHEQ & ISO responsibilities for the service department
  • Ensure machines are returned to customers in a neat and clean condition
  • Ensure diagnosis leads to the most cost-effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint
  • Complete forms and documentation as part of the company's service routine
  • Custodian of all machine Service and Parts Manuals
  • Draft and prepare reports as required
  • Address and coordinate subordinates' training requirements and development
  • Ensure effective communication with staff across departments, customers, and service providers
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Must have a Diesel/Auto Electric/Forklift trade test certificate
  • At least five years of relevant post-trade qualified experience or similar
  • Supervisory or management experience would be advantageous
  • Candidate must be computer literate (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Technical aptitude
  • Must be able to communicate with customers at all levels
  • Must adhere to all SHE requirements
  • Well-disciplined and self-motivated
