About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Controller to join our team at Halfords. As a key member of our Workshop team, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the team on a day-to-day basis and have supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate jobs to the Workshop team based on technical requirement and customer demand.
  • Hold daily huddles to ensure all colleagues are updated on commercial priorities and focused on exceeding customer expectations.
  • Technically trained, this role inspires and mentors the Workshop team to develop their technical capabilities and provides technical support to the team where demand requires it.
  • Promote the Halfords Values and instil these in the team.
What You'll Need
  • Technically trained to Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance standard, or equivalent time served.
  • Experience of managing/supervising a team/workshop to drive performance and delivery.
  • Excellent customer approach - ability to communicate clearly and simply to customers.
  • Experience of developing colleagues through delivery of technical training.
  • Experience of exceeding customer metrics - working with management to support in driving key metrics and KPI's.
  • Experience of meeting compliance standards across Health and Safety and quality.
  • Experience of labour force scheduling, with proven time management skills.
  • Must hold a current full valid driving licence.
