The individual will support the product range while establishing relationships both internally and externally, primarily utilizing video conferencing, along with telephone, email, and other technologies within the designated territory.

The ideal candidate will leverage product features and advantages to identify and qualify leads, initiate the sales process, and effectively promote the assigned product range and services to surpass the designated sales objectives across various markets.

The main goal of this role is to cultivate positive relationships with customers and partners through effective communication to achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Planning and Performance

Oversee the complete sales process for assigned products. Exhibit telephone selling techniques, including crafting compelling opening statements, connecting with clients, building relationships, asking insightful questions to uncover needs, providing solutions through our products, articulating the value proposition, and closing sales. Meet or exceed the sales objectives for the territory by supporting other sales team members, including channels and ICPs, to finalize technical sales within the assigned portfolio, developing additional business in existing accounts, and conducting outreach to create new opportunities for focus products. Engage in sales training, product education, marketing initiatives, and special projects as directed by the company to enhance selling capabilities.

Product Management

Stay informed about product developments in terms of scientific advancements and company innovations. Act as the technical expert for the products, enhancing the sales team's knowledge and closing opportunities. Maintain and enhance our customer database using the company's customer relationship management software (CRM). Identify and foster relationships with new customers, focusing on upselling and cross-selling opportunities. Achieve or surpass assigned sales, profit, and market share targets. Develop and execute an annual sales strategy for managing the assigned territory and products, with quarterly updates. Make proactive calls to various levels and departments within organizations where purchasing decisions are made. Utilize data sources to analyze and develop sales opportunities with the highest return on investment. Communicate key competitor activities, market trends, and evolving customer development plans, including emerging customers.

Communication Skills

Regularly provide written and verbal updates on successes and areas for development to enhance the overall efficiency of the team and region. Engage with research scientists across all accounts for product information, sales presentations, and relevant insights. Communicate account objectives and action plans to management through daily updates, monthly summary reports, and other communication methods. Ensure that opportunities are recorded in the CRM system (SFDC) and updated consistently.

Time Management

Complete assigned tasks and reports promptly while maximizing productive calling periods. Achieve all sales call objectives. Develop skills to manage territory sales activities effectively.

Technical Knowledge

Ensure daily customer contact to provide product and relevant information for all aspects of acquiring and servicing business. Acquire sufficient product knowledge to conduct effective telephone sales presentations. Understand the status of existing and potential customers concerning company and competitor products. Support marketing initiatives and programs in other territories as assigned by the Sales Manager.

Qualifications:

Degree in a relevant field, preferably in Life Sciences; a PhD is advantageous.

Experience:

Previous laboratory experience is preferred. Prior sales experience, ideally in life sciences. Role involves approximately 80% office work and 20% field visits to customers. General knowledge of the product portfolio is essential. Strong digital literacy is required. Proficiency in English, both written and oral; additional languages are a plus.
