We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Payroll and Pensions Officer to join our finance team at Portfolio Payroll Limited.

As a Payroll and Pensions Officer, you will be at the core of our payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient administration of the payroll and pension schemes. Your role will be critical in supporting the financial well-being of our employees, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and providing timely and accurate payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Processing: Accurately process monthly payroll for all employees, including calculating salaries, deductions, bonuses, and overtime payments.
  2. Payroll Compliance: Ensure all payroll data is processed in accordance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
  3. Pension Administration: Manage the administration of our pension schemes, including auto-enrolment processes, contributions, and liaising with pension providers.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with current pension regulations and maintain accurate records.
  5. Process Improvement: Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and pension regulations, and identify opportunities to improve payroll and pension processes.
  6. Employee Support: Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll and pension-related inquiries from employees.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Proven experience in payroll administration, ideally within the housing or public sector.
  2. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pension schemes, including auto-enrolment.
  3. Skills: Proficient in payroll software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong analytical skills, with an ability to manage complex data and identify discrepancies.
  4. Qualifications: A recognised payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP) is desirable but not essential.
