About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fresh Food Coach to join our team at Blakemore Retail. As a Fresh Food Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting our Store/Regional Managers in the development of sales and profitability of our fresh departments within our company-owned SPAR stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support all areas of fresh development in circa 20 company-owned stores within the South East region.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the product range in conjunction with the Trading department.
  • Effectively launch new products into stores.
  • Support store relaunches, including staff training and ensuring opening day standards are met.
  • Implement core ranges and monitor adherence.
  • Review and amend departmental layouts to ensure maximum impact, including the use of point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Maximize the impact of promotional activity in conjunction with the Trading department.
  • Review equipment and fixtures in existing and acquired stores to ensure they maximize sales potential in conjunction with the Development Department.
  • Monitor sales, gross profit, and waste/override, and take corrective action when necessary in conjunction with Area Managers.
  • Develop, implement, and audit systems to ensure all legal requirements are met.
  • Assist Area/Store Managers in the recruitment of staff to work in the 'Fresh' departments in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Develop and deliver an in-store training and exam program for Food Service department staff.
  • Ensure staffing levels are sufficient to meet projected sales targets in conjunction with Regional/Store Managers.
  • Maintain relationships between Blakemore Retail and Franchise partners to ensure we operate within agreed levels.
  • Respond to email queries in a timely manner.
  • Role model Blakemore Retail's leadership values.
  • Identify and develop talent within store departments.
Requirements
  • Understanding of food safety regulations, including Natasha's Law.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Experience in food service, including Franchise partners.
  • Experience in food safety training.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Flexible.
  • Results-driven.
  • Full UK driving license.
