About the Role

As a Links Intervention Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who are at risk of exploitation and harm outside the home. You will work closely with families and other professionals to assess and intervene in situations where young people are at risk, providing targeted support to prevent further episodes of missing and harm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to children and young people who go missing or are at risk of exploitation and harm outside the home.
  • Work with families and other professionals to assess and intervene in situations where young people are at risk.
  • Develop and implement plans to prevent further episodes of missing and harm.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Fulfil the Local Authority's statutory responsibility to offer Return Home Conversations to young people who have been reported missing.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced practitioner who has a strong understanding of safeguarding and contextual safeguarding, and knowledge of the protection of children and young people who are exposed to risk within the community. You will have experience of working directly with young people, adolescents, and families, and will have an understanding of the issues affecting them and the reasons why they go missing.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, engagement, and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to work with groups of young people and deliver preventative interventions within a range of settings.
  • Experience of multi-agency working and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with professionals from a range of agencies.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and contextual safeguarding procedures.
