Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide critical support to our scientific functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratories. This role involves practical duties, administrative tasks, and clerical work to support the company and team activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Order and maintain key stock and consumables, including receipting deliveries and updating our online inventory system.
  • Provide hands-on support to the laboratories, including tasks such as cleaning, autoclaving, and coordinating waste collections.
  • Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and servicing, including defrosting freezers and coordinating with service engineers.
  • Support administrative duties, such as resolving invoice enquiries and assisting with documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Officer on health and safety duties, including facilitating PAT test visits and risk assessments.
  • Report building issues to the landlord and follow up as required.
  • Assist the Head of Scientific Operations with other requests, as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSE level qualifications, including a STEM subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in general administrative work and a laboratory setting, either in academia or industry.
  • Basic computing skills in MS Office Suite software, Outlook, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
