About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Lidl GB. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of our network and server equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and support network and server equipment to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Implement network and server automation solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and resolve departmental incident management tickets at 2nd/3rd level, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Carry out software, hardware, and configuration updates to ensure our systems remain up-to-date and secure.
- Roll out and implement projects, such as server/network hardware upgrades, to improve our infrastructure and services.
- Manage change control (CAB) and task scheduling to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruption.
- Maintain and report on SLA and KPI metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Produce problem reports and escalations as necessary, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Update and maintain documentation and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Adhere to Lidl GB's best practices and procedures, ensuring a high level of quality and service.
- Provide remunerated 'Out of Hours Support' on a scheduled rotation, ensuring our systems remain available and accessible 24/7.
Requirements
- Experience supporting large multi-site network and server infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting and configuring Cisco WAN products is essential.
- Experience supporting and configuring Huawei LAN and WLAN products is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting and configuring Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager is highly desirable.
- Experience of network and server automation technologies such as Python or PowerShell or Ansible is highly desirable.
- Experience of supporting and configuring WAN and VPN technologies such as SDWAN and DMVPN is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting operating systems Windows/Linux.
- Experience installing and configuring server hardware.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain high-quality documentation.
- Able to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and with good problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem ownership.
- Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.
