Job Summary

Adecco is seeking a highly skilled Community Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a Community Safety Coordinator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing community networks and support structures to address serious crime and violence in Richmond and Wandsworth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Community Networks: Develop and coordinate community networks and support structures to address serious crime and violence in Richmond and Wandsworth.
  2. Implement Community Forums: Implement and develop serious violence community forums in Richmond using the Wandsworth serious violence forum as a model.
  3. Manage Community Forums: Oversee and manage community forums across the two boroughs, sharing best practice and improving communications between the community network and key statutory agencies.
  4. Support Community Members: Support community members to develop skills to implement localised violence reduction projects and empower local organisations to deliver localised projects.
  5. Secure Funding: Work with partner agencies to identify and secure sustainable funding for voluntary and community-led projects and organisations.
  6. Connect with Authorities: Connect organisations with the local authority and police as part of a formalised critical-incident response.
  7. Monitor and Evaluate: Provide data and ensure all service activities are planned, evaluated, and impact measured and shared with partners.
  8. Identify New Members: Identify and contact potential new forum members, particularly in areas without representation across the boroughs.
  9. Develop Asset Maps: Develop asset maps and ward profiles of the areas covered by forum members.
  10. Support Bid Writing: Assist with bid writing and project proposals to develop a community pot of funding for community-led violence reduction projects.
  11. Collaborate with VCS: Collaborate with the Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) and the community to co-produce services that tackle the issues that matter most to them and strengthen resilience.
  12. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for forums and be accountable for the generation and monitoring of external funding and any delegated budgets.
  13. Ensure Compliance: Ensure the councils' financial procedures and the policies of any external funding bodies are adhered to.
  14. Identify Funding Opportunities: Identify any relevant funding opportunities to support and facilitate community solutions.
  15. Utilise Serious Violence Needs Assessment: Utilise the Serious Violence Needs Assessment to identify priorities to inform planning of needs.
  16. Update Forum Webpage: Update the forum webpage around relevant local projects, including outcomes/promotion/recruitment.
  17. Link Transitions Work: Through the development of local networks, link the transitions work into localised intervention/support opportunities.
  18. Take on Key Responsibilities: Take on key responsibilities as laid down by the Serious Violence Manager, including developing specialist knowledge, sharing best practice, deputising, or running key initiatives across both boroughs.
