Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
Terry Parris Associates is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the timely order placement, supply, and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services to maintain production.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparation and distribution of weekly expedite reports to selected supply chain partners, ensuring that all respond, and data is entered into the company ERP system.
- Analyses exception messages from the ERP system, and places Purchase orders ensuring cost-effective timely delivery.
- Preparation of document packs (electronic) in support of custom part order needs, (i.e., drawings, BOMs, Gerber files) ready to submit to supply chain partners.
- Manage selected suppliers to control inventories and ensure timely flow of material.
- Develop working knowledge of commodities and associated supplier base.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of required ERP system.
- Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
- Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary.
Requirements:
- Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Advanced Microsoft analytical skills desired but not essential.
- Experience in purchasing electronic or electro-mechanical parts desirable.

- Able to work well in-group problem-solving situations, understand consequences of potential decisions, and support and explain reasoning for decisions.
- Maintains an appropriate focus on short- and long-term goals, outcomes, and accomplishments. Motivated by results and persists until the goal is reached.
