About the Role

Axiom Software Solutions Limited is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our Data Governance Framework, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and DPA regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Data Governance Framework: Collaborate with Business Areas to develop and maintain our Data Governance Framework, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Chair Data Governance Forums: Lead Data Governance forums and working groups to ensure clear accountabilities and audit trails of actions and decisions related to Data Governance activities, issues, and risks.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in line with our Data Governance Framework and industry best practices.
  • Communicate Data Governance: Produce effective communications and publicity materials to inform and gain buy-in across our organization on our Data Governance Framework.
  • Support Data Roles: Identify, develop, and support Data roles within our Data Governance framework, ensuring clear responsibilities for the stewardship of our principal data assets.
  • Define Performance Indicators: Define and develop indicators of Data Governance performance and quality metrics to ensure compliance with data-related policies, standards, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert: Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for Business Areas, supporting and facilitating timely resolution of Data Governance issues and the mitigation of data risks.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Data Governance: Knowledge of data-related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues.
  • Industry Leading Practices: Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management/security practices.
  • Data Integrity Frameworks: Knowledge of data integrity frameworks and the application of data standards.
  • Largescale Data Governance: Experience in largescale Data Governance/management.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Proven interpersonal and communication skills to translate, promote, and embed a Data Governance Framework and supporting policies ensuring buy-in across a large-scale and diverse organization.
  • Data Stewardship Network: Demonstrable experience of building and supporting a data stewardship network committed to achieving high standards of data quality and data protection.
