Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct systematic assessments of common musculoskeletal conditions, utilizing sound clinical reasoning.
  • Identify and escalate any serious or non-musculoskeletal diagnoses as necessary.
  • Develop comprehensive, patient-centered management plans that involve shared decision-making.
  • Effectively deliver exercise prescriptions in both individual and group settings.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly to patients throughout their care journey.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in manual techniques and remain updated on evidence-based practices.
  • Understand and apply adjunct therapies in managing musculoskeletal conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registration.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Current continuing professional development in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Essential Experience:

  • Post-registration clinical experience in core specialties at band 5 level, including outpatient musculoskeletal care.
  • Experience managing patients with persistent pain referred from various healthcare sources.
  • Ability to provide equitable treatment to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable Experience:

  • Prior experience at band 6 level in a relevant clinical specialty.
  • Experience in an NHS environment or equivalent.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and support team members.
  • Capable of managing stress in a busy outpatient environment.
