About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our Operations Team at National Gas Transmission Plc. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that powers homes, businesses, and industries across Great Britain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cover a patch to take on the installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, repair, and maintenance of various safety, control, and measurement systems, as well as other operational duties onsite.
  • Act as site controller to issue permission documents, formulate isolations, and support with the construction and commissioning of new assets on the system.
  • Oversee and inspect work carried out by others, including support of capital projects.
Requirements
  • Previous completion of an apprenticeship (or other recognised training scheme) and hold a BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent City & Guilds NVQ/SVQ Level 3) in an Instrumentation, Control Systems, or transferable discipline.
  • Experience working in industries including but not limited to; FMCG, Utilities, Military, or Aviation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety is key, with an in-date CompEx certificate desirable.
What We Offer
  • On-Track Earnings of between £50,000 to £60,000 when including standby and overtime.
  • Annual bonus of 6% based on personal and company performance.

  • Annual Technical Training budget of circa £1800 rising to £2500 in our next regulatory period.
  • Overtime at x1.5 normal and then x2 on Sunday.
  • 26 days holiday plus statutory holidays - option available to buy extra or sell days.
