Lead Applications Engineer for Power Management Solutions

The Lead Applications Engineer will oversee the design, testing, and promotion of customer application-related activities for both new and existing product lines.

  • Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, are crucial for this role.
  • Capability to juggle responsibilities between program management and product innovation.
  • Proficient in analog and digital circuit analysis, with experience in modeling and simulation tools (e.g., SIMPLIS, LTSPICE, System Verilog).
  • Familiarity with multi-phase regulators (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost), ADCs, and the capacity to lead SOC Power Management IC initiatives.
  • Knowledge of automation using Python or LabView is advantageous.
  • Assist in customer applications and product development to bolster the sales of integrated circuits.
  • Contribute insights and aid in the prototyping of new product definitions.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and measurement techniques for analog and power management circuits.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration to influence product planning and validation strategies.
  • Direct engagement with clients to develop design solutions and resolve system design challenges.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience in power management applications, specifically in DC-DC, AC-DC, and SOC PMIC applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of circuit design, power system design, and PC-based software.
  • Strong skills in both analog circuit design and digital hardware design.
  • Extensive lab testing and measurement skills necessary for characterizing new products and designing application circuit solutions.
  • Proficient in writing basic non-production code in high-level languages such as C++, C#, or Python.
  • Significant experience in directing or executing the layout of high-frequency DC-DC switching converters using Cadence or similar software.
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols like I2C.
  • Excellent writing, technical drawing, and verbal communication skills are essential for drafting product datasheets, documenting lab reports, and creating application notes.
  • Skilled in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, spectrum/network analyzers, and other standard laboratory instruments with NI LabView software control.
  • Working knowledge of printed circuit board layout and fabrication, as well as electronic assembly practices.
