Lead Applications Engineer for Power Management Solutions

The Lead Applications Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, testing, and promotion of customer application-related initiatives for both new and existing product lines.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for this role.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks across program management and product development.
  • Proficient in analog and digital circuit analysis, with experience in modeling and simulation tools such as SIMPLIS, LTSPICE, and System Verilog.
  • Expertise in multi-phase regulators (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost), ADCs, and the ability to lead SOC Power Management IC projects.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, particularly Python or LabView, is advantageous.
  • Assist in customer applications and product development to enhance the sales of Renesas Portable Power integrated circuits.
  • Contribute insights and assist in prototyping new product definitions.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and measurement techniques for analog and power management circuits.
  • Experience in cross-team collaboration to influence product planning and validation strategies.
  • Direct engagement with customers to devise design solutions and troubleshoot system design challenges.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience in power management applications, particularly in DC-DC, AC-DC, and SOC PMIC applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of circuit design, power system design, and PC-based software.
  • Strong skills in both analog circuit design and digital hardware design.
  • Robust laboratory testing and measurement skills essential for characterizing new products and developing application circuit solutions.
  • Proficient in writing simple non-production code in high-level programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python.
  • Significant experience in directing or executing the layout of high-frequency DC-DC switching converters using Cadence or similar software.
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols, including I2C.
  • Excellent writing, technical drawing, and verbal communication skills are mandatory for creating product datasheets, documenting lab reports, and developing product application notes.
  • Proficient with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, spectrum/network analyzers, and other common laboratory instruments with NI LabView software control.
  • Working knowledge of printed circuit board layout and fabrication, as well as electronic assembly practices.
