We are currently seeking a Band 5 Hearing Care Specialist to become a vital member of our skilled team of healthcare scientists. The role involves working across various locations, providing comprehensive audiological assessments and rehabilitation services for both adult and pediatric patients, while also collaborating with ENT specialists.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and experienced Healthcare Science practitioner, registered with the relevant professional body, holding a BSc in Audiology or a related field.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology for adults and some pediatric cases.
- Developing individualized care plans for patients experiencing hearing loss.
- Managing a personal caseload of patients, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Engaging with patients in various settings, including acute care, community, and home environments.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to reassure and support service users, ensuring they feel valued and understood. A flexible approach and strong organizational skills will be crucial in managing your responsibilities effectively.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A BSc in Audiology or Medical Physics/Physiological Measurements, along with BAAT I and II.
- Registration with the relevant professional body (or readiness to register).
- Proficiency in IT, with experience in relevant software systems being advantageous.
