About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to join our team in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Rapid Access Unit at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our dynamic service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development and clinical updates to maintain expertise in haematology and oncology.
  • Provide accurate and timely records of patient care and treatment, adhering to UBHT record-keeping policy and NMC standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a safe environment for patients, administering medicines and promoting infection prevention.
  • Respond promptly to patient concerns and issues, utilizing complaints procedures and PALs as necessary.

Person Specification

We are looking for a nurse with:

RN (NMC registered) or NVQ 3 Operating Department Practice (pre 2004) or Diploma in Higher Education Operating Department Practice (post 2004).Current NMC registration or Health Professions Council registration for ODPs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.Competence in clinical skills relevant to the clinical area, with a strong focus on patient safety and well-being.
