We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. As a key member of our senior nursing team, you will be responsible for providing clinical expertise, leadership, and guidance to our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Expertise: Provide specialist knowledge and advice to nurses and junior medical staff working within the unit.
- Leadership and Guidance: Support the nursing team and act as a positive role model, promoting best clinical and professional practice.
- Representation: Act as nurse or ward representative at local and wider meetings.
- Performance Monitoring: Participate and assist with systematic monitoring of performance and evaluation of nursing practice.
The Inpatient Ward (D603) at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre is a 26-bedded adult combined Oncology and Haematology inpatient unit. We specialize in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy treatments, including direct admissions from our BHOC acute assessment unit for patients with complications post-treatment.
The Centre has an excellent reputation nationally and internationally for research and innovation, and we are the regional specialist centre in the Southwest for Oncology and Haematology as well as palliative care.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Strong clinical expertise in haematology and oncology nursing.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
