Job Title: Site Operations Manager

Location: Leeds

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000


McCarthy Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Operations Manager to join our client's dynamic team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site plant, equipment, operations, and personnel, ensuring smooth and productive operations.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land remediation, quarrying, and civil engineering, with experience in managing regulatory permits, health & safety guidelines, and site operating plans. You will be a natural leader, able to motivate and inspire a team to achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).


About the Role:


  • Plan and resource for long-term and short-term site objectives.
  • Execute quarry and waste management plans.
  • Deliver a safe and controlled plan delivery according to agreed/legislated plan and methodology, within agreed timescales.
  • Manage plant defect reporting, minimising plant downtime.
  • Complete all site administration, including weekly costing information, purchase order submission, payroll, productivity reporting, and compliance checklists.
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met and administration completed in accordance with company or external requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of site compliance, including environmental compliance.
  • Responsible for site safety and security.
  • Hold regular team meetings and facilitate team training.
  • Provide comprehensive and timely handovers to the covering Manager.
