Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Autism Specialist to join our team at Academics. As an Autism Specialist, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to a student with autism, promoting their independence, and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage independence and self-investigation in the student
  • Assist the student with learning materials and provide direction to keep them focused
  • Identify and observe different triggers for behavior and develop strategies to address them
  • Participate in team meetings with on-site professionals to tailor education plans for the student
  • Implement self-regulation techniques and healthy coping methods to support the student's emotional well-being

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with autism and additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
