Job Opportunity: Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join our team at Devon County Council. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children and young people with disabilities in our Children's Homes.

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing individualized support and care to children and young people, promoting their independence and well-being
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment, encouraging positive relationships and behaviors
  • Participating in activities and outings, promoting social skills and community integration
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support and care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, and colleagues
  • Experience working with children and young people with disabilities, or a willingness to learn and develop your skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle, with business insurance
