Quantity Surveyor Position

About the Role

JSS Search is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team. As a leading construction contractor, our client is looking for a professional to bolster their Quantity Surveying team due to continued project growth across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Commercial Contract Management: Prepare and manage contracts, identify and value client change requests, and manage client valuations.
  • Contract Notice Management: Serve contract notices in accordance with the contract and company policy.
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractors' applications, variations, payments, and final accounts.
  • Site Liaison: Collaborate with the site team, subcontractors, and customers' representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Project Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior staff, compile monthly CVR reports, commercial risk reports, and cost forecasts.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement systems of work within the QS department to achieve project goals.
  • Academic Thinking: Apply academic-level thinking and working to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Experience Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant QS construction experience, including JCT management (JCT experience is desirable).
  • Construction Knowledge: Possess knowledge in construction planning and understanding of construction execution.
  • Personal Qualities: Be productive, flexible, and eager to learn, with a willingness to travel across the country and abroad as required.
