Job Title: Academic Operations Assistant

Apple Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Academic Operations Assistant in the Western Trust, Altnagelvin Hospital.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Macmillan Health & Wellbeing Campus and Macmillan Information & Support Service, providing administrative support and assisting with the day-to-day running of the campus and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the Macmillan Health & Wellbeing Campus and Macmillan Information & Support Service, including updating and maintaining the SharePoint.
  • Collate data to enable accurate reporting to support audit, governance, research, and service development.
  • Assist with mentoring Trust volunteers who are supporting the Macmillan Health & Wellbeing Campus or Macmillan Information & Support Service.
  • Provide general health information and support to people affected by cancer or long-term condition(s) and signpost appropriately to local services.
  • Use good communication skills to provide both direct and indirect information to patients/families or carers and volunteers as appropriate, to support their individual needs and where necessary escalate to the appropriate professional.
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) to include English Language or equivalent qualifications or higher standard of education AND 1 year administrative/clerical experience.
  • OR NVQ Level II Business Administration or equivalent and 1 year Administrative/Clerical experience.
  • OR 3 years Administrative/Clerical experience.
  • Knowledge of HSCC computer systems, e.g., working knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to use computer for typing of reports, collation of data.
  • Willingness to undertake learning and development courses as appropriate to the post.
