Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Anaesthesia to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cardiac anaesthesia and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert anaesthetic services to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and other complex procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in clinical research and audit projects to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of a subspecialty training program in anaesthesia or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced cardiac training and experience in TOE (transoesophageal echocardiography).
  • Accreditation in TOE (transoesophageal echocardiography).
  • Experience in day-to-day organisation of pain and anaesthetic services in a busy NHS hospital.
  • Familiarity with current healthcare initiatives and changes.
  • Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit and experience of undertaking and completing audit projects.
