Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior R&D Technologist to lead our global customer account's new product development (NPD) efforts. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for driving product improvement workstreams and maintaining/developing our portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead NPD efforts for the global customer account, working cross-functionally with other McCormick facilities to drive product improvement workstreams and maintain/develop the portfolio.
  • Develop and implement strategic projects supporting key initiatives such as cost optimization, regulatory changes, and processing improvements/simplification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver 'right first time' products, leveraging sound commercial and technical awareness of our ingredients, processes, and customer requirements.
  • Travel within EMEA to support customer requirements, with occasional travel outside EMEA.

Candidate Profile

  • Graduate or equivalent degree in Food Technology/Food Science or related field.
  • Relevant bench development experience in salad dressings, condiments, and sauces, with the ability to proactively work on own project briefs and drive business growth.
  • Strong project and team management skills, including prioritization, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Ability to confidently assume a customer-facing role in all appropriate customer meetings, presentations, trials, and project updates.
  • Sound understanding of the development process and its link to the business, including online plant trials.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
