Aerospace Accreditation Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Aerospace Accreditation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects associated with maintaining UKAS accreditation for SGS United Kingdom Limited.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure SGS United Kingdom Limited maintains and adheres to accreditation requirements.
  • Plan and conduct professional management system audits in accordance with SGS procedures to enable delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards.
  • Maintain and further develop procedures and resources for the profitable delivery of aerospace certification.
  • Provide technical expertise, support and training where required to Technical & Accreditation manager, SGS UK aerospace auditors, affiliates and line Manager.
  • Expand the range of products and services delivered in the sector and support sales activities.
  • Project management of key clients as required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain up to date sector knowledge and expertise, and cascade this to other auditing staff.
  • Research, develop and maintain Product procedures, quality plans, briefing notes and guidance notes.
  • Assist Certification Managers to ensure appropriate endorsement of Product Qualification Records for the aerospace standards.
  • Adhere to the accredited office's responsibilities stated in the supporting office agreements with the relevant affiliates.
  • In conjunction with the Certification managers, to source, manage and train sub-contracted staff to assist in the delivery of certification work in the Product.
  • Seek opportunities to expand client base in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Client Managers.
  • Liaise as necessary with professional bodies and organizations to protect and develop the company's commercial and technical interests in the sector.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of ISO9001 / ISO 14000 and ISO 45000.
  • Registered Lead Auditor AS9100 / AS9120 / AS9110.
  • Extensive experience within aerospace industry.
  • Experience of working under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Registered on OASIS as an AEA (Aerospace Experienced Auditor).
  • Experience of managing and leading teams.
  • Developing Quality Management systems.
  • Previous Aerospace Project Management experience is advantageous.
  • Degree, Post Grad Diploma, Msc or equivalent in relevant subject is advantageous.
