Job Summary:
The Aerospace Accreditation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects associated with maintaining UKAS accreditation for SGS United Kingdom Limited.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure SGS United Kingdom Limited maintains and adheres to accreditation requirements.
- Plan and conduct professional management system audits in accordance with SGS procedures to enable delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards.
- Maintain and further develop procedures and resources for the profitable delivery of aerospace certification.
- Provide technical expertise, support and training where required to Technical & Accreditation manager, SGS UK aerospace auditors, affiliates and line Manager.
- Expand the range of products and services delivered in the sector and support sales activities.
- Project management of key clients as required.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain up to date sector knowledge and expertise, and cascade this to other auditing staff.
- Research, develop and maintain Product procedures, quality plans, briefing notes and guidance notes.
- Assist Certification Managers to ensure appropriate endorsement of Product Qualification Records for the aerospace standards.
- Adhere to the accredited office's responsibilities stated in the supporting office agreements with the relevant affiliates.
- In conjunction with the Certification managers, to source, manage and train sub-contracted staff to assist in the delivery of certification work in the Product.
- Seek opportunities to expand client base in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Client Managers.
- Liaise as necessary with professional bodies and organizations to protect and develop the company's commercial and technical interests in the sector.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of ISO9001 / ISO 14000 and ISO 45000.
- Registered Lead Auditor AS9100 / AS9120 / AS9110.
- Extensive experience within aerospace industry.
- Experience of working under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads.
Desirable Requirements:
- Registered on OASIS as an AEA (Aerospace Experienced Auditor).
- Experience of managing and leading teams.
- Developing Quality Management systems.
- Previous Aerospace Project Management experience is advantageous.
- Degree, Post Grad Diploma, Msc or equivalent in relevant subject is advantageous.
