As a Residential Security Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security at Southview Approved Premises. This facility is dedicated to managing the risks associated with individuals transitioning from incarceration to community living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily supervision of residents, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures under the guidance of management.
- Address routine inquiries and concerns raised by residents, fostering a supportive environment.
- Staff the Approved Premises during assigned shifts, escalating serious incidents to the designated on-call Manager and completing necessary incident reports.
- Enforce facility rules and manage any violations according to established protocols, responding appropriately to challenging behaviors.
- Employ pro-social modeling techniques to encourage positive behavior and address anti-social actions.
- Collaborate with Key Workers and management to discuss resident-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and input significant occurrences into the database system during shifts.
- Assist in the management of substance misuse cases, including medication dispensing and documentation as required.
- Monitor residents' movements in and out of the facility.
- Ensure a safe and productive work environment by utilizing appropriate health and safety equipment.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks and report any maintenance or security concerns.
- Perform curfew checks, well-being assessments, fire alarm tests, room inspections, and monitor CCTV systems.
- Maintain a visible presence within the premises, engaging with residents positively and contributing to their safety as per risk assessments.
- Support the planning and execution of meaningful activities for residents and facilitate their induction process.
Essential Qualifications:
- Familiarity with health and safety best practices.
- Knowledge of anti-discriminatory practices.
- First Aid certification.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with strong administrative and IT skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.

Additional Information:
Please note that candidates must be over the age of 18 and possess a valid SIA license. This position includes a quarterly bonus and requires working 42 hours per week on a night shift schedule.
