About the Role

NHS Professionals Limited is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Learning Disabilities Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patient conditions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective care plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on learning disabilities, promoting empowerment and self-advocacy.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure patients' needs are met, and care plans are updated accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and caregivers, fostering a culture of trust and respect.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience in a learning disabilities setting within the last 3 years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment options.
