Facilities and Building Services Technician
Pertemps Bond is seeking a skilled Facilities and Building Services Technician to join our team.
The main responsibility of the Building Services Technician is to enhance property conditions, service quality, and standards while ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel on site.
The Building Services Technician will uphold a high standard of quality, delivering maximum satisfaction to all stakeholders, and providing first-response solutions to issues involving basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating tasks.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break | Additional hours may be necessary based on operational requirements.
Compensation: £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities: including but not limited to:
- Delivering infrastructure, facilities, and building maintenance services.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to and improved across the site, reporting any issues that arise.
- Maintaining area standards to meet audit requirements.
- Upholding 5S standards consistently.
- Ensuring mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) is always utilized.
- Evaluating current processes and practices to identify new opportunities for improvement.
- Conducting assessments of equipment and plant conditions.
- Complying with organizational safety policies and procedures, identifying hazards, and implementing measures to mitigate them.
- Diagnosing simple faults and testing, repairing domestic water and sanitation systems, as well as basic single and three-phase electrical installations.
- Observing, reporting, and rectifying substandard conditions of building finishes, fixtures, and fittings.
- Performing basic plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
- Accurately entering data into the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including remedial work and parts requisition.
- Assisting the hygiene team by removing, replacing, and installing guards to facilitate cleaning.
- Executing all assigned planned preventative maintenance tasks, including:
- Lubricating bearings
- Assessing machinery integrity
- Conducting meter readings
- Performing daily maintenance checks and inspections
- Cleaning and replacing filters
- Verifying that cooling systems operate without faults
- Monitoring water levels and usage
- Completing root cause analysis with relevant site teams
- Conducting plant room inspections
- Managing contractor activities
Ideal Candidate:
- Proficient in electrical and plumbing skills, with knowledge of plant rooms, including air compressors, refrigeration plants, and air handling units, along with some carpentry skills.
- Physically fit, capable of handling deliveries and equipment transportation.
- Experienced in maintaining equipment within a services or utilities environment.
- Familiar with CMMS systems.
- Holds IEE Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Demonstrates competencies in strong health and safety awareness, excellent hands-on skills, and effective oral and written communication abilities.
