Pertemps Bond is seeking a skilled Facilities and Building Services Technician to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the Building Services Technician is to enhance property conditions, service standards, and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
The Technician will uphold a high standard of quality, delivering maximum satisfaction to all stakeholders while providing first-line response to fault identification with fundamental plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating abilities.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break | Additional hours may be necessary based on operational requirements.
Compensation: £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:
- Delivering infrastructure, facilities, and building maintenance services.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to and improved across the site, reporting any issues that arise.
- Maintaining area standards to meet audit requirements.
- Upholding 5S standards consistently.
- Ensuring mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) is always utilized.
- Evaluating current processes and practices to identify potential improvements.
- Conducting assessments of equipment and plant conditions.
- Complying with organizational safety policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating hazards.
- Diagnosing simple faults and testing, repairing domestic water and sanitation systems, as well as basic single and three-phase electrical installations.
- Observing, recognizing, reporting, and rectifying substandard conditions of building finishes, fixtures, and fittings.
- Performing basic plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
- Accurately logging data into the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including remedial work and parts requisition.
- Assisting the hygiene team by removing, replacing, and installing guards to facilitate cleaning.
- Executing all assigned planned preventative maintenance tasks, including:
- Lubricating bearings
- Verifying machinery integrity
- Taking meter readings
- Conducting daily maintenance checks and inspections
- Cleaning and replacing filters
- Ensuring cooling systems operate without faults
- Monitoring water levels and usage
- Completing root cause analysis with relevant site teams
- Conducting plant room inspections
- Managing contractor activities
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proficient in electrical and plumbing skills, with knowledge of plant rooms, including air compressors, refrigeration plants, and air handling units, alongside some carpentry skills.
- Physically fit, capable of handling deliveries and equipment transportation.
- Experience in maintaining equipment within a services or utilities environment.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- Qualification in IEE Wiring regulations.
- Demonstrated competencies in strong health and safety awareness, excellent hands-on skills, and effective oral and written communication abilities.
